Chintan undertakes action research and even, surveys to help us better understand the solutions to the challenges we address. In order for our research to be top notch, we seek the advice and help of individuals with proven credentials in their field. Our research advisory group is as follows:

Pranay Lal

Pranay Lal is a biochemist by training and works in the area of public health. He is an environmentalist; and has worked as an animator for a leading advertising firm and was a caricaturist for Mumbai-based newspapers. He has written extensively in peer-reviewed journals on health, ecology, global trade and infectious diseases. His first book, Indica- A Deep Natural History of the Indian Subcontinent was published by Allen Lane in December 2016.

Dr Pallavi Pant

Pallavi Pant is an air quality scientist and works on air pollution and health issues including research and public engagement projects. She holds a PhD in environmental health from the University of Birmingham, UK, and MSc in Environmental Studies from TERI School of Advanced Studies, India.

Dr Aman Luthra

Aman Luthra teaches in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, USA. His research interests lie at the intersections of urban planning, political economy, and nature-society relations. He obtained his PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 2015.

Dr Mahua Saha

Mahua Saha is a Senior Scientist in the Chemical Oceanography Division with the CSIR, National Institute of Oceanography at Chennai. She has done her PhD (in Environmental Science) from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Japan in 2008 with Monbukagakusho: Mext Scholarship in 2005 from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology under Japanese Government.
