Chintan is driving clean air leadership and action in 4 of the worst polluted cities of Uttar Pradesh by developing constituencies of support to reduce exposure to air pollution in the short term and reduce overall air pollution in the medium term. This includes capacity building for Urban Local Bodies, while creating civic society advocates who can demand clean air not just for themselves but for all citizens, including the most vulnerable communities.
A Delhi Study
Between December 2023 to January 2024, Chintan carried out a research titled ‘Saaf Saans: A Citizen Survey on Air Pollution in Five Cities’. A total of 500 respondents from Ghaziabad, Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad and Noida were surveyed using a questionnaire to gauge their knowledge on air pollution sources, terminology, awareness about health impacts and perceptions on air pollution as a priority of governance.
