Air pollution is an impending doom. To strive harder for cleaner air, we need to know everything about what causes air pollution. The increasing number of vehicles also means an increase in carbon emissions, which has long-lasting adverse effects. Constant construction and demolition are resulting in dust that is polluting the air. Improper waste management, where wastes are piling up in landfills, releasing stench and making the area inhabitable, is only adding to the menace. Indian cities like Delhi top many global surveys for having an air quality index far above the danger threshold. Air pollution is causing deadly diseases that are reducing the average lifespan of human beings worldwide. It is one of the supreme causes of climate change. The air inside our house is also not safe always. We must break the myths and try to reduce air pollution by being responsible so that our future doesn’t choke itself.
Chintan has been working with various partners to empower the public to understand the science and impacts of air pollution. It is essential to take action at the earliest and push for policies that minimize air pollution and its impact on human health.
