Cool Roofs

Heaters and air conditioners allow the affluent to trade energy for thermal comfort regardless of how cold or hot it is. The vulnerable sections however, have to bear the brunt of heat and cold. To reduce negative health impacts of the increased frequency of extreme weather, Cool Roofs address this inequity by delivering thermal comfort to those who need it the most but can afford the least. Chintan works with technical partners to bring together low cost-technology, innovative design from upcycled materials and build capacity to provide affordable thermal comfort that can be replicated by households themselves.
